Eila Kundrie Carrico is a mesmerizing new female voice in the American canon of nature writing. Her writing is a celebration of wild nature and cultures that has the power to awaken a felt sense of our collective human story as deeply embedded in the natural world. She grew up in rural central Florida, and was inspired by her studies in journalism, anthropology and religion to travel around the world and teach in Paris, Ghana, Thailand and India before settling in the Bay Area in 2008.
Eila studied yoga and embodied archetypes for almost a decade before completing a master's degree in Engaged World Psychology and then an MFA in Creative Writing and Consciousness in San Francisco. Her first book, The Other Side of the River, was published in January 2016 by WomancraftPublishing. Her writings have appeared in publications such as Rebelle Society, Elephant Journal, Holistic Parenting, and AnnaPurna Living.
